Most cases, pleural disease is not as deadly, but do have the capacity to damage lung function and increased risk of more serious asbestos cancer. Pleural mesothelioma starts from inner pleura and spreads to the outer wall of the chest, abdomen, and heart. Pleural mesothelioma is usually fatal within 1 year after diagnosis. However, the early detection of risk factors, such as asbestos exposure usually lead to early detection of cancer.


What Causes Pleural Mesothelioma?

Pleural mesothelioma is caused by exposure to asbestos. Asbestos is a natural microscopic mineral from some industry. Asbestos fibers are very durable, but also very difficult to expel from the body.

Asbestos fibers in the outer layer of the circuit of the lungs and pleura, the thin membrane of the mesothelial lining of the chest cavity. This layer allows you freedom of movement than the deep structure of the body weight because lubrication on the surface of this structure. Pleura like other membrane is the fine structure and the microscopic asbestos fibers can be formed on the surface of pleural plaques and finally tumor cell pleural mesothelioma. It takes many years between exposure to asbestos and the development of health complications.
